Mud Foods Returns to its Spiritual Home in Chichester

Mud Foods Returns to its Spiritual Home in Chichester

We’re excited to announce a new chapter for Mud Foods as we move back to where it all began - Chichester! After years of successful growth at our bakery in Midhurst, we’ve now relocated to a larger facility on the very same site where Christian first launched Mud Foods in 2009.

This return marks a full-circle moment for us, bringing the heart and history of Mud Foods back to its roots while paving the way for an exciting future.

Back to Where It All Began

For Christian, our founder, Chichester has always held a special place in Mud Foods’ story. It’s where his passion for pies came to life, inspired by the hearty, wholesome recipes passed down from his grandmother.

In 2009, Christian started baking his first pies in Chichester, selling them at the local farmers’ market. His delicious creations quickly became a hit with locals, and it wasn’t long before Mud Foods expanded to other farmers’ markets, farm shops, restaurants, and pubs across the region.

Now, with our pies available nationwide through our online pie shop, it feels like the perfect time to come back to Chichester.

"It feels like coming home," says Christian. "Chichester is where Mud Foods started, and returning here all these years later is a proud moment for us. It’s wonderful to bring our business back to its roots.”

A Move to Support Growth

Our move back to Chichester isn’t just about nostalgia - it’s about growth. As Mud Foods has expanded to meet demand across the UK, the need for a larger bakery became clear.

This new space in Chichester allows us to continue making our handcrafted pies with the same care and attention to detail, while giving us room to innovate and grow. This move also strengthens our connection to the local community, where we first found support and encouragement.

We’re thrilled to offer something extra special to our Chichester customers: a Click and Collect service, saving you on delivery costs and making it easier than ever to enjoy Mud Foods’ pies.

Celebrating Our History While Looking to the Future

Returning to Chichester feels like reconnecting with the heart of Mud Foods. While we’re proud of how far we’ve come - expanding from local farmers’ markets to delivering pies nationwide - we’ve never forgotten our beginnings.

This move marks an opportunity to celebrate our history while also looking ahead. With our new, larger space, we’re excited to continue crafting our award-winning pies, expanding our range, and finding new ways to bring our passion for wholesome, hearty food to even more people.
